Did Ghost Browser Give Me a Virus?

If Ghost Browser becomes infected with adware or malware, it most likely came from an extension you have installed in Ghost Browser. Extensions you import from Chrome into Ghost Browser or that you downloaded directly from the Chrome Web Store can contain malware. Remember, not all extensions are safe so be mindful of what you install.

Adware or maleware found in Ghost Browser could also be the result of downloading Ghost Browser from a third party website. Remember to only download Ghost Browser directly from our website.

If there is a widespread issue with malware in Ghost Browser, we will make an announcement on the Ghost Browser blog.

To remove malware from your computer

  1. Uninstall all of your extensions.
  2. Uninstall Ghost Browser.
  3. Run one or more antivirus solutions.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Run your antivirus software again.
  6. Restart your computer again.
  7. Download and install Ghost Browser.
Note: When importing extensions into Ghost Browser, carefully review all the ones you have added in the past month or so. If any of them were not from a trusted source, best practice is to not reinstall them.
