Site-Based Silos
Site-based Silos help you enhance your privacy by isolating specific web sites to their own separate and “siloed” Identities.
For example, if you are browsing the web in one Identity and don’t want Facebook to be aware of the other tabs in that Identity, you can add Facebook.com to a Silo and Facebook.com will always open in a Siloed Identity dedicated just for that site.
This feature will help you automatically reduce how much of your web browsing can be viewed by sites that infamously track you.
How it Works
There are two Silo modes, regular and Strict Mode.
Regular Silo Mode
Using Facebook as our example, after you've created your Facebook Silo and you're browsing the web, if you either enter the Facebook URL or click on a link to Facebook, no matter which Identity you were browsing in (Default, Temporary or regular Identity) Ghost Browser will automatically open any link that starts with "facebook.com" in your Facebook Siloed Identity. In regular Silo mode (not Strict Mode) any links you click while browsing on Facebook will open in that same Siloed Identity. The video below shows an example of how the regular Silo mode behaves when links are clicked.

Strict Mode
Creating a Silo in Strict Mode goes one step further by ensuring that the Siloed site is the ONLY site that is allowed to open within that Siloed Identity. Again using Facebook as our example, if you click a Facebook link in your Facebook Silo that takes you outside of Facebook, that link will open in the Default Identity. This ensures that the only website you visit in that Silo is Facebook keeping those cookies very strictly siloed to that Identity. The video below shows an example of how the Strict Mode behaves when links are clicked.

How to Create a Silo
1. Click the Identity Manager icon in the extensions tray and click the Create Identity button as seen in the screenshot below.

2. Give your Siloed Identity a name, choose or create your own custom color, and a Tag if you like. For clarification, we recommend that you include "Silo" in the name of your Siloed Identity as there We suggest that you tag your Silos with the tag "silo" so you can quickly filter your Identities list for Silos.
3. If you want to assign a proxy to your Siloed Identity make sure to choose a proxy from your list in the drop-down menu.
Note: Use of this feature requires a subscription to the Pro Plan.
4. As seen the screenshot below, enter the URL for the website you want to Silo in the field titled, "Always open the following sites in this Identity". For Facebook you can just enter facebook.com as there's no need to enter the "http://" at the beginning of the URL.

5. As seen in the above screenshot, check the box to enable Strict mode if you want to ensure that no other website is ever opened in that Identity.
