Did Ghost Browser give me a virus?

If Ghost Browser becomes infected with malware, it most likely came from an extension. Extensions you import from Chrome into Ghost Browser can contain malware. If there is a widespread issue with malware in Ghost Browser, we will make an announcement on the Ghost Browser blog.

To remove malware from your computer:

  1. Uninstall all of your extensions.
  2. Uninstall Ghost Browser.
  3. Run one or more antivirus solutions.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Run your antivirus software again.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Download and install Ghost Browser.

When importing extensions into Ghost Browser, carefully review all the ones you have added in the past month or so. If any of them were not from a trusted source, best practice is to not reinstall them.

Additional support

Both Microsoft and Apple have published support articles about how to remove malware for PCs and Macs, respectively.
